A farmhouse built in 1940, a passion and a farm that has been handed down for generations
Our family’s working farm, which has been operating for generations, today is certified as “Sapori di Campania,” meaning “Flavors of Campania.” A few years ago, we – the Caseria family – renovated the farmhouse built by our grandfather in 1940, and we designated it for use as a holiday and educational farm, and it is registered with the bulletin of educational farms n 188 section A.
The agricultural activity of about 40 hectares is represented by the cultivation of wheat and hay, vegetation, and small groves. The business center is made up of a livestock shelter for approximately thirty cattle, of different geneology, and which is flanked by a breeding of thirty sheep.
There is a mini-cheese factory, located inside the building for agritourism activities, where we produce our award-winning caciocavallo “Castelfranchese”, and other typical cheeses of Castelfranco in Miscano, including mozzarella and ricotta, both for sale and direct consumption on site.
4 private rooms, each with a bathroom, and can accommodate a total of 12 people,
a reception area, a large dining room, to be able to enjoy lunch made in the best local tradition with attention to everyone’s needs, and which can also be used as a conference room,
and ample parking for cars and vans.
Agriturismo Caseria produces its own cured meats and vegetables, but mainly [its award-winning] caciocavallo that is worked and spun strictly by hand with cow’s milk. Caciocavallo is a cheese that holds the secrets of a long-standing Castelfranco tradition. Agriturismo Caseria also produces fresh mozzarella, bocconcini, and ricotta.
The typical local cuisine is composed of: homemade pasta (cicatelli, tagliolini, gnocchi, and lavanelli), fagioli (beans), spezzato (a veal dish), panunto (bread grilled with bacon or pork fat), pancotto Castelfranchese (a bread soup), and a wide selection of country meats cooked on the grill. Typical desserts: mustaccioli (Neopolitan cookies), sfogliatelle, and sbriciolata (a ricotta crumb cake).
